The essence of the festival, which is intended to dismiss bad luck and evil spirits from the previous year, is echoed in the low-top details. The leather upper in beige has a lightly crackled surface with brown and tan overlays. An image of Japanese warrior Tsuno Daishi is stitched on the lateral heel in purple, with playful Swooshes-as-horns. Additional purple hits appear in the signature Swoosh and lining of the collar. Artist Utagawa Kuniyoshi created the sock liner graphics that picture folk hero Kintar.
